In prevention of road accidents as every year, heavy transport circulation will be restricted in Guatemala City during Holly Week, according to the agreement published in the Official Newspaper of Central América.

The Agreement 376-2019 issued by the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) detailed that the restriction will begin on April 17^th at 12:00 local hours and will end on April 21^st at 24:00 hours.

However, vehicles that carry cargo of perishable products, fuels, beverages and food are excepted “they can circulate without the need for special permits”

This heavy transport will be able to circulate from Kilometer 290 of CA-09 north, to the facilities of Puerto Barrios railway terminal and installations of Santo Tomas de Castilla port on the CA-09-NORTH.

Also you will be able to move from kilometer 80 of CA-09-South road, to facilities of Puerto Quetzal to kilometer 104, highway CA-09 south and kilometer 114, highway CA-09 south.

In Guatemala City on April 12^th, the National System for Prevention of Holy Week (SINAPRESE), will be activated to guarantee the security of national and foreign tourists.
